MEET MISS DOMINIQUE...

​

Dominique is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in child, adolescent, young adult and family therapist. Her primary focus is in helping children, adolescents, college-age/young adults and families through the healing nature of play therapy (Child-centered Play Therapy/Activity Therapy), expressive arts therapy, mindfulness training, family play therapy, parent training/education (Child Parent Relationship Training), AutPlay (certified provider), and Teen DBT Skills Groups, psychoeducational skills group for ages 13-17 designed to aid in the development of healthy coping skills through mindfulness strategies.

Dominique's clinical experience includes working in the Student Counseling Center at Reinhart University and Hope Counseling Center. She has performed developmental assessments for preschool and kindergarten age children, as well as performed advocacy and intervention services at a domestic violence agency. Dominique holds advanced certificates in Trauma Counseling and Child and Adolescent Counseling with an emphasis in Play Therapy. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher specializing in trauma informed yoga, and yoga for children. Her post-masters training in Child-centered Play Therapy is from the renowned Center for Play Therapy at the University of North Texas.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Samford University in Family and Human Development and earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Richmont Graduate University. 

​

Dominique is a member of the National Association for Play Therapy, the Georgia Association for Play Therapy, the American Counseling Association, and the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy. She is a licensed professional working towards dual licensure as a professional counselor (Georgia LPC014779) and a marriage and family therapist are well as a Registered Play Therapist under the clinical supervision of Trudy Post Sprunk and  Areas of competency include anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, attachment disorders, adjustment issues, low self-esteem, anger, behavioral issues, Autism/Asperger’s, divorce adjustment, adoption, foster care, ADHD, processing disorders, dyslexia, and other neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as a multitude of child-related concerns/issues.

When Dominique is not "playing" at Happy Camper, she enjoys traveling, fishing, paddle boarding, hiking, spending time with family, and listening to her ever growing collection of vinyl records. Her "fur baby", Theodore, keeps her company while she creates unique pieces of custom jewelry.
